Kratom Compared

How we rank kratom brands

Last updated October 2026 · rubric kratom-directory-2026.10-v1

Every brand is scored out of 10 with the same published rubric, from facts we can check: lab reports on the brand's own site, the American Kratom Association's GMP Qualified Vendors list, prices and label potency from product pages, and the brand's shipping and return policies. A criterion we can't verify scores zero and shows as “Not published”.

21+ only. Kratom is not approved by the FDA for any medical use, and nothing here is medical advice.

The rubric

Scoring rubric, version kratom-directory-2026.10-v1
CriterionWeightHow points are earned
Lab testing & COA access35
  • 15 — batch lab reports (COAs) anyone can read on the brand's site; 8 if they're only available by request, lot lookup or as images
  • 10 — the newest COA we found is dated within the last 12 months
  • 5 — COAs report both mitragynine and 7-OH
  • 5 — COAs report heavy metals and microbials, with no failing result on the batches we read
GMP verification20
  • 20 — listed on the American Kratom Association's GMP Qualified Vendors list when we checked (a brand's own claim doesn't count)
Price & value15
  • Up to 15 — the brand's cheapest powder price per gram in packs of 100 g to 1 kg, ranked against every listed brand that sells powder (cheapest = 15, most expensive = 0). Brands without powder are ranked on cost per 10 mg of mitragynine against every brand where the label states it.
Shipping & returns15
  • 5 — a stated return window (3 if shorter than 30 days)
  • 3 — publishes its no-ship states
  • 2 — its pages agree on which states it doesn't ship to
  • 3 — publishes a free-shipping threshold
  • 2 — publishes a same-day shipping cutoff
Transparency15
  • 4 — names the labs that test its products
  • 3 — lists what its lab tests cover
  • 3 — states a 7-OH policy
  • 5 — labels mg of mitragynine per unit on its extracts, shots, gummies or tablets (or sells only leaf products)

Community sentiment (a dated digest of what buyers report) will be added as a criterion once we can collect it reliably; until then its weight is split between lab testing and transparency.

How we collect the data

We read each brand's public pages directly and store every fact with the exact text it came from, the page link and the date. Lab reports are recorded per batch as the brand publishes them: a batch result describes that batch, not a strain or every product. Reports older than 12 months are shown as “No current lab report found”. Where a brand's own pages disagree (for example on which states it ships to), we show the disagreement and use the stricter list. We don't work around bot protection or sites whose terms forbid collection; those brands aren't listed until we can check them another way.

Partner policy

Super Speciosa and Kratom Country are featured partners: the site's owner is paid by them for marketing work. They are scored by the same rubric as every brand, their score is never adjusted, and partner cards are labelled “Featured partner” with this relationship stated in the card. Partner cards are never shown for states the partner doesn't ship to.

Corrections

Brands can send dated evidence (a lab report, a policy page) and we re-check and update the listing. Scores change only through the rubric.
